Privacy
Dyrelog is a one-person fan project, not a company, and this page is written in plain language rather than formal legal terms. It isn't legal advice, just an honest account of what the site and the desktop overlay actually store and why. Last updated September 2026.
Logging in with Discord
Logging in uses Discord's own sign-in flow. Dyrelog receives and stores your Discord user ID, username, and avatar image URL, nothing else from your Discord account. This is what lets a leaderboard entry show who submitted it and lets you get back into your own account.
Staying logged in works through a single session cookie. It's used only to know who you are between requests, never for tracking or advertising, and the only other cookie is a short-lived one used during the Discord sign-in itself.
Combat logs and submissions
When you submit a fight, its combat lines (damage, heals, deaths, spell casts, and your pet's "Attacking" reply) are stored so they can be checked for fabricated numbers and so you can look back at your own past submissions, along with the "You have entered…" line from when you zoned in, which is how the leaderboard knows the difficulty. Chat, tells, loot and other log lines are never uploaded. Your in-game character name and realm are stored too, since that's how a leaderboard entry is identified, but Dyrelog never collects your real name, email, or any other personal information from the game client itself.
Kills you submit from the desktop app go on the public leaderboard once they pass the automatic checks (you choose "Ask" or "Auto" submission in the app, or turn submission off). You can write an optional short bio on your profile, which is public once set. As the site's admin I can see flagged or under-review submissions, including their log content, to check them by hand.
The desktop overlay
The overlay runs on your own machine and reads your local combat log file directly. When submission is on (Ask or Auto) and you're logged in, it uploads a boss fight's combat lines every few seconds while the fight is happening, so the server can see the fight was recorded live. That's part of the cheat checks. Fights against anything other than a leaderboard boss are never sent. If you discard the kill or the fight doesn't end in a kill, those lines are never put on the leaderboard, and the server deletes them within a day. Once a kill is submitted, only one compressed copy of its combat lines is kept. Nothing else is sent unless you turn on usage statistics.
Usage statistics are off by default. If you turn it on in Settings, the app sends a random installation ID, the app version, and your platform (e.g. Windows) on startup and every 15 minutes while running. The server records the dates it saw that ID. No account identity, game data, or personal files are included. Turning it off stops future reports, but doesn't erase records already received.
The download button on the site's Download page records an aggregate count by day and app version before redirecting you to the file. No visitor ID or IP address is stored as part of that count.
How long data is kept, and asking for yours to be removed
There's no automatic deletion schedule right now. If you'd like your account, submissions, or bio removed, reach out and I'll take care of it by hand. The quickest way is opening a GitHub issue or emailing dyremoon.gg@gmail.com.
Who this is for
Dyrelog isn't directed at children, and Discord's own terms already require an account holder to be at least 13. If you believe a child's information has ended up here, contact me at the address above and it'll be removed.
